I have been driving the hell out of this thing with the A/C blasting.
Here are the latest updates:

In the rear, the truck is now notched, tubbed, and cut to lay out on 4 24's in case I ever decide to bag it. Which I probably won't since I like driving it too much. At the most, maybe some kind of 4 link with some coilovers so I can run all 4 semi's, if I ever become a baller some day.

Image

Front end is now tubbed. And now that I know how much room I have to play with I'm going to run 295/30-24's up front whenever the rubber bands wear out or they pop on a pothole which will most likely happen first.

The room in between the tire and stock A/C.

Now that the frame isn't sitting on the axle the truck is a little lower than the last time I posted pics. Last time I posted I forgot to mention that I removed the overload leafs in hopes that the truck would ride better, which it does. If I had gone with a bolt-in notch I would be bottoming out on it constantly.

I would not run a 25 series again, at the very minimum a 275/30-24 if space is an issue. If you recall my semi's started out with 4 25 series tires. I used the truck to go back and forth from Houston to San Antonio a couple of times then one day I noticed I could feel every little bump in the road even the road deflectors. I thought I was low on air so when I started adding air to the front tire I could hear the air escaping from a small "cut" on the sidewall. From the outside it looked like it could be fixed with a patch but when it was dismounted it looked like it had blown out from the inside. I remembered hitting two BIG pot holes on the freeway that week. I was driving around with a flat tire and didn't even know it since the tire looks the same flat as it does filled.... At this point I put bigger tires in the rear and used one of the old rear tires as a replacement and the other as a spare. Fast forward to when I got my truck back from the frame work and the guy said he was taking it to the car wash and "ran over a piece of metal," one of my front tires had a big, big, ugly plug in it. My left over rear 25 series tire came in handy as a replacement again. My problems have been with the front tires, even if you slow down for bumps it's just not enough sidewall for something so heavy, the good thing is that they are so small they act like run flats when flat. I will be going 295/30-24 next and will still be able to keep my stock A/C. 29.4in. vs. 31in.

I dropped the truck off to a guy in Baytown before last Thanksgiving and got it back the middle of February. The guy I took it to said he couldn't finish it because he was real busy with work and asked me if I was ok with him taking it to a guy in Tomball to finish it off, I told him to go for it, I just wanted my truck back. When I picked it up it had a flat tire, cracked head light, the A/C box was broken in pieces, the blower motor didn't work, and some of the rear brake lines were rubbing on metal. I didn't want to get into figuring out who did what, since more than one person worked on it. I just took the truck home and fixed everything. Overall, the wait was worth it considering how it came out and what I paid.

I still have a couple of small things I want to do to the interior/exterior that probably nobody will notice except me before Tex Mex. My next "big" mods will be getting the dash and door panels wrapped in black, and installing a K/5 Blazer center console.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I look back on the first page of this thread and she's come a long way. I hate downtime. The notch/tub job was supposed to take 2 weeks and ended up taking 3 months! I'm almost scared to take it to a body shop. It comes out well in pics but, pieces of clear literally fall off of the bed when I wash it. In a way I kind of like that, it gives it character, more of a work truck look. I dont' have to wax it or even bother drying it when I wash it. I just dry the windows and the shiny stuff, and if it gets scratched I just add more touch up paint.
