looking at a 7,3 powerstroke equipped truck or excursion 02 ish whats the issues or problems or drawbacks to these motors?

None that I know of. We have had both the trucks and Excursions with a 7.3 in them and have not had 1 problem. However if you get a truck beware of the 99 models as some of those had the older style 7.3s in them and they were lacking on power.

wasn't it a split yr that the 99 and 99.5 had different power?? im looking at a excursion 02 with 7.3 but 127k be worried or no

99 had the motors from the old body style trucks but with upgraded electronics and a better turbo system. The 99.5 were the new style motors that they made up until they started using the 6.0 piece of junk.

I wouldnt think twice about buying that truck as long as the money is right.
