Hello all,

I'm new to Dually Scene. I'm starting a project with a '33 chev 1 1/2 ton pickup. Planning on putting a 5.9 Cummins, 5 spd, dually. But to do so, I need to narrow the rearend to get it to fit, and not look out of proportion. I understand it's the same as narrowing any other rearend. But I wan't to know if anyone else has done, and if there's any tricks to make it better, what kind of suspension mods work the best, and to get the twist out of the travel.

I plan on pulling/hauling with this thing once it's done. as in 13,000lb 5th wheel, and goose neck trailers.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Mike

Looks like you have a great project on your hands. Keep us updated on the progress and pictures too. As for the Dana 70, I have never narrowed a rear axle, but it looks to be no different that Dana 60 or any other axle for narrowing.... It's just a lot bigger. Check with a shop that would do the narrowing and ask for any pointers that they might have.

I'm in the planning process now. Don't want to rush into this little project. I want to start with getting the rearend narrowed first, then build the rest of the rear around it. Suspension after getting it narrowed will possibly be the biggest hurdle.
Looks like Moser engineering will be able to respline, or supply axles once I get it narrowed. I just want to do it right!
Being a farmer, I'm all about overbuilding the parts that matter, but don't want it too heavy.

Thanks again!
