Well I went and looked at a new (for me) dually today... I already have my 92 chevy, now I am looking at a 1999 F-350....

Looking for info on them, thinking DJM 3/5 Drop and 22's... anyone have some photos? Also what about wheel fitment? I am not a big fan of the wheels sticking out past the rear fenders, so what needs to be done on the fords to make them tuck, c&c axle maybe? Just looking at some initial info on them...

Crew cab xlt with 7.3 Metallic Navy blue, has a visor and cab extension thing, they will be the first to go... I figure my chevy is turning into a show truck, so this one I want a bit more usable for towing my boat, conservative drop, and just a clean, simple and classy truck.

Gonna prolly do a front end swap to something newer, get rid of the 2 tone stock paint, and all the bolt on bullshit that the previous guy put on it, and put in a nice stereo, drop it and wheels and tires and call it good... Of course that is assuming it clears my mechanics check out of the vehicle...

Here is the best of both worlds for Fords. The red one is my daily. It has the DJM 3/5 kit with 3/4ton SRW springs in the front to give it another 1/2" or 1" of lowering in the front.

Wheel fitment on these is about the same as on the Chevy trucks. C&C rear axles work well but are sometimes pricey, Streetscene makes widened fenders for these that range in the $1300 range and fit terrible, and narrowing the rear axle.

I sell more 24s for these trucks but I personally like mine with 22s and meaty tires.

Yeah 22's and meats is what I am thinking, I still want some load carrying capability and 24" tires just don't have the load capabilities, I have seen to many split out side walls on 24's, rather not risk it! Oh and those are a couple good looking trucks.

awesome pic for sure. i like 24s, but the 22s with bit of meat on them look right at home. least on trevors daily.

nice trucks. i just purchased a 2000 f350. I have rear kit only, its a the 3"to5" adjustable kitf rom djm.. i ordered calmax shocks for it. My first dually lowered and i think it rides horrible with the rear lowered. i was wondering how your truck rides. ive had a few f250's lifted and rode better than this dually, just wondering how can i get a lil smoother ride. thanks

If the rear of your truck has the DJM Shackle/Hangar kit on it there should be three adjustment levels on the brackets. These do not adjust the suspension in full inch increments but you will get at least a 1/2 inch out of each hole.

These trucks are going to have a stiff ride due to the leaf springs in the rear having an overload built into the original pack and also having another overload on top of the pack that you can remove. My truck rides great until you hit rough bridge transitions or major bumps in the road. One thing you need to be sure in the rear is that they took the factory bump stops out and installed shorter ones. Alot of people skip this step on Fords and it causes the frame to ride ontop of the axle causing a rougher ride than it should be.

thanks lockone, i may take the pack off the top of the leafsprings. will it make it sit any lower cause im dead level with the front and really didnt want to go any lower in the rear. if it does drop it anymore i will just go up one hole maybe on the drop shackles.

It should not drop it any more than it is now. The overload springs on the top probably do not touch the brackets until you hit a bump or have a slight load in the bed.

4. Sitting in scrap yards
5. Melted down and returned as Kias

Sorry; couldn't resist.

EDIT, oh wait; you said where are my ford GUYS at.

another possible reason for the rough ride is that it is a short bed dually, no matter what you do that thing is giong to be rough. you could always do a ridetech rear setup, it would help. truck looks good though, good luck
