Get the longest trailer you can. On a 20' trailer, front bumper at the front rail, the rear tires will be at the trailer fender and there will be a foot or so of bed/bumper hanging off the back.

The typical 18' trailer will work too but not ideal. There's some pics on here of guys that crammed their crew cabs onto 16' trailers but that's about as sketchy as it gets.

The 20 footer I had was 7,000 lb capacity so be sure to pay attention to that stuff too. Don't want to overload the trailer and kill it. Also be sure it's got real trailer service tires (number will start with ST) instead of regular tires.

Would be great if you had a brake controller on the tow vehicle too, with of course working trailer brakes.

Don't try to pull that trailer with anything less than a 1 ton.

If the load seems unbalanced towards the rear, take the outer dually tires off, that should give you some clearance to roll the truck forward. If it still has too much weight towards the rear, strap the tires down at the front of the trailer for more tongue weight.

yep cant say much more then what someotherguy said. my duallys weight around 6500lbs, so like said get the biggest trailer you can. my trailer is a 20ft and 12,000 and its about as small as I'd want to go with. I towed one of mine with out the engine and trans with a 3/4T std cab once and it was a little scetchy

My '94 3500HD (yes, heavier than a regular 3500 by a long shot) scaled at 5300 lbs - with no bed, no interior other than the driver's seat, dash cluster sitting on top of the steering column support, and the door panels, no bumpers, didn't even have exhaust. 5300 lbs, when it still looked like this! :
