I have a set of the classic round big hole wheels but I only have four and they are only polished on one side , and I want to rotate them put the ones on the back on the front and the ones on the front on the back but the only problem I have is when I tuned them around I'll be on the none polished side . does anyone know what I can use to polish hte nopolished side to look like the other side , Someone told me I needed to sand them then poilsh them, but what do I sand them with and whats the best wheel polish to use to bring the shine out on them.

You have to start sanding with some low grit paper and work you way up to the fine stuff like 600 grit. Then you need to go to a truck stop and get some polishing supplies like tripoli. This comes in 3 colors. Red, White, and Green. The red is for deep cutting, the green is for medium cutting, and the white is for a mirror shine. It is best to do them in that order. You will need a good grinder or polisher for this and alot of elbow grease. The best polishing style cloths are the ones that are twisted into about 6 strands that go on the end of the polishers. I forget the names but they look like french braided hair.
Be prepaired to spend about 100-150 in supplies and several hours of hard labor to polish these wheels. You will also be dirty as hell when you are finished and look like you have been cleaning chimneys all day.

Becky polished mine out with Mothers Billet polish. Ive got a buffer if you want to borrow it. Mine were machined so we cut it with some 320grit on a DA sander, then 600 wet, 800 wet, and 1000 wet. You can go straight to the polish after the 320 but you willl have some small scrathes left in the wheels.

no need for scratches now! if your doin it big you might as well go all the way

i would recommend what lock did.. the polishes that he told you about are the best you can use.. i poslish alot of motorcycle frames and thats all i use i will look great if you take the time!! and yea you will look like you slide down a chimmey a couple of time after you do it because it gets really messy

I think I would just break down the tires and change all of the tire locations and leave the wheels where they are... Alot less work and alot cheaper.

here is a guy at a chrome shop in baytown that will poilsh them on the truck for $100, if you feel like driving.

I wish some of the meth/crack heads around here would polish wheels for some cheeseburgers...

Afriend of mine drives a Pete and there is a guy in his town that will polish the whole truck for $150. all the chrome and billet
