Oregon people - I need my Semi wheels shoveled down... Where can I go to get this done and not have to spend an arm and a leg on shipping? All of the machine shops in my area are 75 per wheel... Seeing that lock does it for $25, i feel like I am getting raped!

You can send them down here. I have a lot of customers in the Northwest that send there used wheels to me. I just received and sent out 3 sets from Oregon, Washington, and Idaho this week.

You are a bit short on the price for my machine work too. My price is $150 per wheel for 4 wheels and $125 per wheel for 6 wheels if you send them to me. You may have misunderstood our shop manager if you called for a quote in the past few days and didn't talk to me.

Also not many machine shops are capable of performing the proper machine work to the wheels correctly. Just spend the money right the first time. I have replaced several wheels other machinist have botched trying to do the work.

Nice truck also!

Please excuse my humor, I am just playing!

Lock, question for you. I thought you highly recommended not using used wheels, said they were all eggshaped and a lot of times cracks showed up after machining. Are you just doing what customers want? What say you about using used wheels?

I don't advertise selling used wheels but I do sale some trade-ins that I have from time to time. I also don't sell them because depending on what you are doing to them, you will spend more money on a used set than you can buy a new set for.

When I started this business I strictly sold "used" wheels. Most of the time out of 10 wheels I would get at least 4-5 that were egg-shaped or hairline cracks that were unseen to the naked eye. We have access to some x-ray equipment around here that I took some time to look at the wheels with. I was very amazed at the stress cracks on some of the wheels which were otherwise unnoticeable. That is the main reason I don't sale used wheels.

I will machine used wheels that people send to me because that is part of my business and I don't mind helping people save money.

Psylent -- That is a nice AK you have in your avatar. Is it a 47 or 74?

It is a Romanian Under-folder - AK 47, I highly recommend one for all!

Lock -- A question about egg shaped wheels... Is it as common to find this on used wheels off of a full size pickup compared to a big-rig?

Easter is around the corner but I dont really want any egg shaped wheels unless they are made of chocolate.
