i took out my hydroboost and i can not seem to get it apart i need to take the big nut off to get the mounting plate off the nut is like am 1 13/16 or 1 5/8 i cant get a reg socket on it because of the shaft thing in the way and i dnt know if it is left or right hand thread...here is a picture to show you what nut i am talking bout

im wanting to say that some one one he posted up a exploded veiw drawing of the hydroboost along time ago
but I think I used a chisel and hammer to get that nut off because the new one came with a new nut

thanks i got it off without ruining the nut...i had to reuse the org so i need to be careful..lol

another question

can i remove the rod thing that goes to the brake pedal does it just pull out i tried to pull it and unscrew it but i didnt get to carried away i didnt know if it can be removed

why do you need to remove it?

i think it has some type of plastic thing on the end of the rod . it keeps it from falling out.

If you are going to RR the unit it should come with the bracket attached.

i got the front end of on 06 2500 front the firewall forward so im going to be doing a motor swap and i want to use the new hydroboost and master cylinder of the 06 so far everything just swaped over and bolted up besides the brake rod thing so if all else falls ill just weld the old rod to the new rod to extend it to fit
