So I am sure this has been asked before so if so plesae just point me in the direction...

So when I get to the next step in my truck build I want to bag it with some 22" semi's but I want to run stock dually tubs since my flames go over the tubs and I don't want to try and match candy paint...

So what do I need to do and what kind of link set up can I run on the rear and what about wheels? Do I need to narrow my axle? Also I do NOT want to relocate the tank.... Also i still use this to tow a big ass boat too...

Please help point me in the right direction.... :quagmire:

I'm sure Trevor @ TWAT will chime in eventually
because he knows this stuff inside & out. I think
the only way u can keep the stock rear fenders is
"Townasty's" (I think that's what they are called)

But if you just want 22 outers in the rear I think
it's a non issue as far as widening your fenders.

I think the only way is the "Townasty's"
or widen the inside / shorten rear end.

Yeah I am cool with going inward, no big deal on cutting up the inner fender or bed, just don't want to touch the outside...

Then I need to see what kind of link set up I can run... I don't want to relocate the tank...

Hopefully someone knows for sure and will chime in.

What year is your truck? I see a 92 model in your garage so I will answer as if we are talking about that truck.

Your best bet is going to be to narrowing the rear axle to run 6 wheels on this 92.
When you narrow the axle you are going to have to make some changes to the rear frame on the truck. I would build a new back half if it were mine that way you can keep the tank in the same spot and build all of your hangers to accommodate your link system. The room you have around the tank, frame, and axle on the drivers side is going to determine the link setup that will be the best for you. From what I can remember there is not alot of room there when you narrow the axle, so if you build a new back frame section you may be able to mount a link bar on the outside of the tank and still get clearance for the bar to mount to the axle without hitting the wheel/tires.

Yes this is on the 92, so what if I don't want to back half it... what if I just wanted to notch it? would a teen and a 22 fit if I narrowed the axle?

Just going to be one of those things you are going to have to measure to see what clearances you are going to have. With you not wanting to move the tank you are cutting your link option room down also.

Ok good to know. Well if moving the tank is necessary what are my options? I do not want to have the tank sitting in the bed. Does anyone make a tank to go under the bed or what are other people doing?

Moveing the tank isnt required. Narrowed or c&c axle. Run a 16 on the inside. Move your lower link bars below the frame, upper link bars between the frame.

No tank moving if you run a 16" inner (like Lowboys Pics above). If you want to run the inner 22s you will have frame clearance issues, therefore the tank will need to go somewhere. You may could plate and pocket the frame rails to step them inwards toward the center and get the clearance you would need.

Another option you've got, just came to me, is to go to a short bed tank, which is a good 12 inches shorter plus. That'll give you enough room to build a new rear frame clip narrow.. enough to run inner 22s as well.

Dude thats exactly what I am looking for!!!! Thats how I want mine to sit, guess I am going to have to run a teen on the inside.

Is that thing set up like with a 6 link? Maybe its the pictures but it looks to me like there are 2 link bars running from the back side of the axle to the back of the truck with the bags mounted to them... Am I seeing that right?

What size tires are people running/how tall???
