I have an 89 gmc with 350 and 700r trans. First and second gear work but when it goes into third its like its in nuetral. If i drop the shifter into second then the truck moves but only in second gear. Tranny fluid looks clean and full... so any ideas?

That's kinda the problem with chevys. They are built like crap and fall apart.

That's good cause that's what your going to have to do if you own a chevy.

Seriously though if you go to some of the tranny places that specialize in the 700r4 they should be able to get her back together so she won't burn up again. But a lot of making them live is in the adjustment of the tv cable.

Since we're talking trannys (transmissions, not transvestites, Cowboy), I'm thinking about putting an o/d in mine.

What trans do you guys recommend?

ya one has a tv cable one is fully eletronic

allso i like 700r4s i have one in my dually with the 502 and i have one in a toy with a sb 400 if you biuld them right thay will live to about 700 hp after that thay brake the input shaft but for like 500 bux you can buy a hardend one from rapter trans that will take more

now if you have the $$$ a 4l80e the way to go but you have to run a stand alon puter and thats 500 buxs but will stand up to 1200 hp stock its a 400 with and od added really
