ok so the frame that i i have was origanally a diesel... im putting a 350 in it... here is my delima:

diesel mounts are about 4" to tall so i cut em down and tacked em back on
problem #1 if i ever wanted/needed to change them i cant get to the bolts on the bottom side(too close to the frame now for them to come out)

problem #2 still not really short enough, i could get a cowl hood and have plenty of room but dont really want to run one.

so whatcha think?

lil history on the truck.... started witha bare frame outta a junk yard.. got a cab off a 94 single wheel 4x4 diesel, got a bed and rear end from another truck, and got a 98 350 motor/trans/comp/harness outta a junkyard(way cheapand hella low miles, thats why i went with a 350 )

toatal money tied up so far bags and all i only have 4500 in the truck

diesel frames have a big braket welded on and the mount bolts to that... since the mount holes on the blocks are up much higher....which in turn means there are no holes in the frame to bolt the stock 350 mounts to.

so in essance no not all gm mounjts are interchangeable... if it was a gas motored frame i wouldnt be having this issue at all.

On one of my truck I bought some aftermarket mounts from a distributor of mine and welded them to the frame. Still hasn't broke to this day and they were put on 4 years ago.

you can weld the new mounts to the frame and if you have to remove the engine you can just pull the cross bolts. Honestly, how often do you have to change motor mounts?
