Y'all just be sure on those LS-based swaps you're using a factory PCM/harness or a very good replacement. I visited a buddy doing a 5.3 into a squarebody, the PCM is marked Delphi but looks like a boat PCM or something...and the harness it came with is batch fire on the injectors. The PCM and harness were $1300!! Fuck that, if I'm going to lay out money like that, why would I tolerate it turning an SFI engine into batch fire mode? He wouldn't have even twigged to it except the injector connectors weren't marked, all the same color code, so he called them to ask which one was which. When they said, "It doesn't matter" he instantly understood...rooked!

Wow. What system is he using?

I haven't seen a wiring schematic or current track for the LS or Vortech systems but I can't see it being much more difficult than some of the stuff I've done with VW's. Can the GM immobilizer (VSS?) and smog equipment (AIR injection, EVAP, rear 02 sensor) be defeated at the ECU, or do you have to use resistors and 02 sims to fool the system?

You can kill the Passlock system in the PCM with a reprogram, I'm not familiar enough with the LS engines to say if they've got a smog pump - do they?? Pretty sure no. Rear O2's could probably be programmed out too.

When he told me that lame shit about that PCM/harness I instantly wanted to know what company it was, so he hunted all around the shop for the box, and the name on the shipping label was one I'd never heard of, and forgot pretty quickly. Yeah I'm a lot of help huh?
