i am finishing up my bodydrop and came into the classic problem "cant run spikes with a bodydrop". this will just not do... so i cut and raised my fenders to clear. would love to hear some opinions of this (good or bad)

I have done it to two of my trucks. I mainly did this to get the stock Chevy fender radius and lines into the Caddy fenders but we also raised them up for lug clearances.

i ran into all kinds of issues with trying to clear the rims while retaining the stock arms and rotors. the face of the frieghtliner rims are rounded where the alcoas contour in between the lug mount and the rim lip. i could not clear this section of rim without bringing the wheels in about an inch. i would like to see the article to see how it was done myself. thanks for your opinions. lock, your fenders look good. i did not notice you raised yours until now. another reason i did this was to help clear for turning radius and still have good stroke on the shocks i choose when up. before i had to max out to turn.

it was in a recent truckin magazine.. the have a tech artilce on how they did it.. they make a whole kit that comes with a set of arms and tie rods that will clear your frame without notching. theyre pretty pricey tho.. i plan on checkin them out in the near future when im at that point in my build.

lol....thats how i feel as well. there my favorite by a long shot. you wanting them in 22s or 24s ? and im guessing you want the directional style? let me tell ya, the 24s are badass and ive had good luck finding those, but the 22s are rather hard to find.

i have all six 22 FRL's because these are the nicest rims IMO. its funny, now that i have them im thinking going to alcoas or petes. i think it allways seems the grass is greener on the other side!!

John, You will have this clearance problem on 22s or 24s when boddied. The problem only exist on boddied trucks not ones that just lay frame.
